 About Good News Baptist Church

In August 2008 after several months of home Bible studies with a small group of believers in the Bangor Maine area, and led by Pastor Robert Henderson, we began to meet at the Comfort Inn (now Quality Inn) on Hogan Road, and the decision was made to incorporate as a church.

The Lord has blessed Good News Baptist Church abundantly. We have had the privilege of helping several young people to go on short term missions trips. Our church presently supports three missionary families:  Ben and Dani Jacobs serving in Brazil with Baptist Mid Missions; Sean and Tammy Quinlan serving in Guam with Worldwide New Testament Baptist Missions; and Omar and Tracy Schrock serving in Interior Brazil with Worldwide New Testament Baptist Missions. We also support Christian Law Association.

In April of 2010 The Ruth Rollins Scholarship Fund was established in memory of one of our charter members, to assist young people attending Bible College.

On January 14, 2015, the church voted  for Pastor Tim Andrews to serve as Co-Pastor, along with Pastor Henderson.  Pastor Andrews teaches the adult Sunday School class and shares preaching and other responsibilities, Mrs. Andrews plays the piano, and their children, Anna, Jonathan, and Stephen are involved in music ministries and running the sound system.  They are a blessing to Good News Baptist Church, and we thank the Lord for bringing them to us.
